The island of Noirmoutier is a little larger than its congener, the island of Yeu, because it extends over 49 km².
During your stay on the island you will have the opportunity to discover its rich gastronomic heritage: its famous potatoes, oysters, shellfish and salt.
You will also be able to taste the excellent cuisine of Monsieur Couillon, crowned Chef of the Year by the Gault et Millau.
What makes this island special is the famous Passage du Gois. If you like unusual places we advise you to borrow it to go to the island. It is a road that can only be crossed at base tide and is completely submerged during high tides. Be careful, before crossing it, remember to check the tides to avoid getting trapped!
If you prefer not to cross it, you have the possibility to take the bridge of the island of Noirmoutier accessible free of charge.
Noirmoutier Island abounds with trails and bike paths for walkers.
