The joys of camping holidays by the sea

Make the most of your stay in a 4-star campsite in the Vendée to discover the seaside resorts that make up the charm of the "Côte de Lumière". Starting with Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, where our family campsite Domaine de la Michelière is located! The former fishing village has become a popular seaside resort for holidaymakers, with its lively quays, large beach and marina.

A short distance away, between Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, the Vendée coast road offers a magnificent view of the wild coast. Along the way, you will encounter the Pil'Ours rock, the Trou du Diable and the famous "Cinq Pineaux", visible at the end of the cliffs of Sion.

In Saint Jean de Monts, you will enjoy the long sandy beaches ideal for relaxation, water sports and family fun. Not to be missed: gable fishing, an institution in Saint-Jean-de-Monts!

In Brétignolles-sur-Mer, between sea and countryside, you will discover a long strip of sand and some of the most famous surfing spots in the Vendée. Sauzaie beach in particular.

Impossible to visit the Vendée by camping without a stopover in Les Sables-d'Olonne. Home port of the mythical Vendée Globe, the town of Les Sables-d'Olonne is a must for its Grande Plage, its seafront promenade and its picturesque districts of La Chaume and Ile Penotte.

Activities, sports and leisure in Vendée

Between land and sea, the Vendée offers a wide range of outdoor activities: cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, and of course water sports. The beaches of the Vendée will allow you to practice sand yachting, surfing, kitesurfing, sea kayaking, stand-up paddle, wave-ski, jet ski. Throw yourself in the water!

Hikers are not to be outdone. Our 4-star campsite in the Vendée is the starting point for many hikes to discover the forest, the dune and the marshes of the Vendée. As for the lovers of the little queen, they will take the bicycle path of the Vélodyssée which links Bouin to L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer, passing by the island of Noirmoutier and the spectacular passage of the Gois. Take the opportunity to explore Mimosas Island, famous for its white houses with blue shutters, its unique landscapes and its salt marshes where the sauniers harvest the precious fleur de sel.

Has Noirmoutier revealed all its secrets to you? You will also fall under the spell of the island of Yeu, less than an hour's boat ride from the mainland. Rent a bike for the day and set off with your family to discover the most Breton of the Vendee islands. Escape guaranteed!

Travel through the history of the Vendée

The Vendée is also a land of history. Come and live the unique experience of the Puy du Fou in a 4-star campsite in the Vendée! Elected several times "Best Park in the World", the Puy du Fou is located an hour's drive from your mobile home rental in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie!

If you like medieval castles, set off to attack the castle of Tiffauges and its astonishing medieval war machines, the castle of Talmont-Saint-Hilaire fortified in the 12th century by Richard the Lionheart, or the castle of Noirmoutier and its 20-metre high dungeon.

In Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne, don't miss a visit to the Historial, a museum that retraces the history of the Vendée, from prehistory to the beginning of the 21st century. In Nieul-sur-l'Autise, the old Romanesque abbey founded in 1068, the 18th century watermill and the neolithic camp of Champ Durand offer, there too, a real journey through time.

The immersion in history continues not far away, in Fontenay-le-Comte, a beautiful town of Art and History at the gateway to the Poitevin marshlands, in the southern Vendée. Take the opportunity to take a traditional boat trip on the canals of the Marais and explore the bucolic landscapes of the Green Venice. On your way, discover the Maillezais abbey where Rabelais stayed, a cathedral abbey built in the middle of the Poitevin marshes. As you can imagine, your holidays in a 4-star campsite in the Vendée are full of surprises!
